Dear Steve,
Has the car been sold or not? I' ll be in the UK in the first week of April and I am tempted. The early K-Series, and especially this 1996 limited edition, have always been my favourites for a roadgoing Caterham.
Best regards

Dear Dom, YHM.

Dear Ed, did you already get in contact with Elie? I' ll be a couple of times in the UK next months and at least once by car. So perhaps I could transport the rear axle when heading back to Belgium.

Dear Ed, did you get my message with the e-mail of Elie?

Thx for the advice.
I didn' t know that Willans give a club discount. On their site, there are still types with the crutch straps going through rings on the lap belts.

Indeed, that is the main reason.
On the other hand I don' t like that screaming yellow script on the black straps. Just cosmetic, but I am a traditional guy ...

I know these are non-Caterham parts, so I hope nobody sends me a death wish on Christmas.
Having a clearout after selling my 1999 Elise 111S S1. Below you can find the list, I can send pictures by mail.
1. Original glass rear screen, the inclined type. Almost never used, so perfect condition.
2. A set of yellow Koni front dampers and springs for the S1 or S2. Still functional but a rebuild would be better before mounting them.
3. A set of front mudflaps. Used.
4. A set of carbon fibre mirrors. As good as new.
5. A set of riser blocks for the 111S / 160Sport rear spoiler.
6. An original towing eye. Used, but good condition.
7. A KN air filter for the original K Series airbox.Open for sensible offers ...
I live in Belgium, but will travel to the UK on 28.12.2019. So I can deliver the parts or put them in the post.

Hi everyone,
Starting to make my list for the 2020 saison and one (expensive) item I shall be needing is a new FIA approved harness.
I know Schroth is making a specific Caterham type, but I do not like them. It is the most expensive one on the market and I would like to have the type where the crutch straps pass through a ring attached to the lap belt.
Alternatives are:
Willans Silverstone 633 Single seater (FIA 8853/2016)
TRS Pro 6 point single seater (FIA 8853/98)
TRS Pro Superlite single seater (FIA 8853/98)
Anyone experience with these alternatives? Or are there other possibilities?

Hi,
I need a new helmet for next season. Was thinking of a new Arai but a Bell will do for an amateur racer.
At the moment I have a L, but it is necessary to compare the sizes. Do you know how Bell defines the measurement?
Best regards

Hi everyone,
Is there a specific colour code for the anthracite wheels or a RAL number that comes closes?
Doesn' t have to be perfect. I am planning to paint one of sets of KN Minator wheels in such a colour.

Revilla,
Thanks, I have also found your explanation concerning the wiring and the loss of voltage, especially in a circuit with a FIA switch. So, I' ll certainly use your guidance and experience.
Cheers

Hi guys,
I am going to tackle it step by step.
1. Replace the solenoid.
2. Fit an external relay.
I have the Magneton starter, with the relay at the underside. I have found a solenoid on the internet for £30, but it is not 100% sure that it is the right type. Can anyone recommend where to get the right one?

Hi,
Thx for the answers. I am going to take a look tomorrow at the left hand side of the gearbox. It will be probably a gearbox driven speedo, since there is nothing to see at the rear wheels.
I' ll visit Redline on 16.08, as soon as I am sure about the part I need, I' ll notify Chris.

Hi everyone,
I did a search on BlatChat but to be honest there must be something wrong since I get a lot of irrelevant results.
The issue is simple, my 1.6 K Series (01/11/2004, so one of the late K Series) suffers from the infamous K Series click. It has the starter with the solenoid on the bottom, wrapped in some sort of heat shield.
There are a number of solutions, but I was thinking of simply getting an alternative starter motor. On my Super Seven Twin Cam I put an Edge starter motor and never had any problems afterwards. Perhaps there is for the K Series a good alternative on the market.
The car is mainly being used on track.
Thanks for the advice

Hi everyone,
I already have the car 1 year, so thinking of finally getting my speedo working. Not needed on the track, but if I want to pass Belgian MOT, it is quite crucial ...
To avoid an endless search, is there some-one with a car with the same spec and age who knows which system was being used. I have the electronic speedo and odometer. So is the sensor in the gearbox or on one of the weels?
