  1. 2 caterham branded leather Seats with runners from my roadsport SV. These are in good condtion but there are 3 small and one large scuff on 1 seat, and 1 small scuff on the other. This has removed the black finish, and was presumably caused by the seat belts. See photos, I am sorry they are upside down.

£800 unbranded from thundersport without club discount. Im looking for £250 for the pair.

  2. Hi Jonathan

Its not quite that simple, certainly from someone who has only a basic understanding of electrics.

The speedo is actually now wired exactly as the K series circuit diagram https://www.graduates.org.uk/docs/201626_EU3_wiring.pdf

However that only works because Caerbont have  added the internal resistor and a 12 v feed out from pin 8 of the gauge.

As I understand it, the gauge is wired and configured differently depending on the sensor, ie gearbox or wheel.

The resistor could be fitted externally to the gauge, and I suppose it wouldnt be difficult to wire in a 12v supply, if you understand what was required. The installation would be different however with a different sensor.

    Hope that makes sense

  3. Thanks to Caerbont, we finally got this resolved.

My K series has two wires from the gearbox sensor, a red and blue which is connected to the output from the gearbox sensor on one end, and to pin six on the speedo plug on the other.

The  other wire, light green, needs a 12 volt supply, which Caerbont added to the internal wiring in the speedo connected to pin 8.

They also added a 470 ohm resistor between pin 5 and pin 6 as that is also required for the gearbox type sensor.

  4. Hi Jonathan

I don't have a wiring diagram for the resistor, only that it has to be mounted from the speedo signal input to ground

    I dont have these

    WN460 - Rear ARB and Wheel-speed Sensor

WN572 - Speedometer sensor groundwire installation

And the original speedo was re installed and working after I couldnt get the new one to work in February, and has been in situ and was working up until yesterday when in went into the garage, so I am pretty confident the wiring is ok

  5. My 2003 7 speedo has always read 10 mph higher than the car is traveling. After contacting Caerbont,I tried re setting the dip switches to no avail, and after messing about they suggested I replaced the speedo with the latest version so I ordered one.

I thought that this would be a relatively painless change, but after fitting it, and trying to calibrate as per the instructions,

I tried to calibrate using the Drive to set facility, and although I could access the DTS screen, and select the 00000 option, after driving one mile, the display remained at 00000 and then reverted to set ppu. In addition, although the needle twitches, it did not deflect full scale when switching on while pressing the reset button,  and although there is a default set of 008380 the needle does not move when the car is driven.

I went back to Caerbont, and they told me that they thought that my speedo was driven from a gearbox mounted speed sender.  This is an unusual sender in that it requires a 470 ohms resistor to be fitted from the speedo signal input to ground.

They sent me a resistor, and along with some other work I asked Tom New he could fit the speedo for me.

After wiring in the resistor, ~Tom has has had about as much luck as I did.

Before i give up and send the new unit back, is there anyone who has done this or is able to offer any suggestions.

    Many thanks

  6. It was Jemma that I dealt with and she seems to know her stuff.

The Thundersport web site doesnt show the hood with the zips but their ebay listing does and it wasnt a special.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caterham-7-Series-5-SV-Half-Hood-Easy-In-Vinyl-/180937271012

The side straps do have an adjustable buckle but the free end has a velcro tab on the end and that was too long to mate with the secures end.

I expect that they have modded their drawings to suit.  I was quite impressed

  7. I collected today and had fitted a new mohair half hood, [easy out version] and a boot cover for my SV.

The measurement I gave them when I ordered was 900 from the front of the windscreen, which they didnt query..

Both items were fitted by them and fitted nicely, the only issue was the straps at the side were a bit too long and had to be cut down.

Service was great, and I felt happy that everythging was done properly.

I dont know where you are Blue 7 but a visit may well be a good solution.

  8. 5x16 inch wheels and tyres from 1.8 roadsport.

    Wheels

The spare has never been used and is like new

The 4 road wheels have not been kerbed and are immaculate on the outside with some marking on the inside

1 wheel see pick has a small distortion on the inside, but has not lost pressure or caused any problems in the 7000 miles I have had it.

The tyres are 205/45 Avon ZZ3 which gives the same outside diameter as the 14 inch 185/60

Tread is between 5 and 6 mm

£300 situated in Waterlooville.Hampshire,  Could arrange a meet if not too far

    Thanks for looking

  9. assuming I followed the manual

current are 205/45 vr16 which would change to 185/65 hr 14

According to a chart on the net the 205s are 577 and the 185s are 591 od so I suppose there is not a huge difference on OD

Where would I get the speedo re calibrated? It is a  standard caterham speedo from a 2003 roadsport

According to my sat nav, the car is doing 60 when the speedo reads 70. [i wondered wht everyone overtook me when I was driving at an indicated 70]

  10. I have just bled my gauge and made sure there are no sharp bends or kinks.

The reading now was 70 at tick over cold and 80 at 3000 rpm and. reducing to 40 psa at idle  and 65-70 at 3000 rpm when warm.

The gauge now certainly reacts  instantly to engine change in revs but is reading much higher than the suggested range

Im beginning to wish I had bought the stack electronic gauge.

    Any suggestions
