  1. Hi all.  I'm glad to say that Longton and District published the final results and they have not changed from the timing screen info that I used, so I can confirm the scores from rounds 15 & 16 and the winners from this season!

If you want the detailed results for all the classes and championships, they are linked to on the results page.  An exciting final 2 rounds at Anglesey changed the leader for most of the different championships!

    So, join me in congratulating:

Class 1 and the Northampton Motorsport Caterham & Lotus 7 Club Speed Championship overall champion - Charlie Wilson *clap*

Class 2 and Edward Lewis champion - Neal O'Leary

Class 3 champion - Robert Jacobs

Class 4 champion - Michael Sankey

Class 5 champion - Andy Skinner

Class 6 champion, and only competitor in the class *rotate* - Peter Seldon

Class 7 champion - Simon Rogers

    Ladies champion - Rebecca Boston

    Veterans champion - Paul Boston

Hope to see everyone at the awards lunch in a few weeks - don't forget to book by the 11th October!

  2. Blimey, you lot are quick!  If you opened a file more than 10 mins ago you may have seen a file with an error.  if you hold shift and refresh, it should refresh the page and you'll see a the corrected files.

....and I've had a few messages reminding me of the overall championship rules.  You have to win your class to be considered for the overall championship.  Winners to be confirmed once the final results are in!

  3. Hi all

I have the timing output so I have all the times - however, I don't think that Longton & District have published the final results.  So, I'm posting the provisional results and positions at the end of the championship - these will be ratified once the final results for the event over the weekend are published:

    Anglesey national 2023.pdf

    Anglesey international 2023.pdf

    Class scores at 1st October_2.pdf

    Overall champ at 1st October.pdf

    Ladies scores 1st Oct_0.pdf

    Veterans scores at 1st Oct_0.pdf

    Edward lewis scores 1st oct_0.pdf

Ping me with any errors or problems and I'll look into them asap.  I'll post when the final results have been published.

  4. Hi all

I don't think they have posted the final results, so these are just provisional from the timing screens.  However, with the excitement at the top of class 3 and most of the other championships I thought I would post some current standings - you can see the top 3 for ladies, veterans, Edward Lewis at the top of the page of the class scores.

Full and final results for all our championships once all the final results have been confirmed from Longton & District (who are hosting the Anglesey races yesterday and today).  These are subject to change!

    Provisional scores at 30th Sept.pdf

    Good luck everyone competing today!

  5. Hi all

As we go into the final round of the season, I thought I would put out a call for stories and photos that you think should be considered for the end of year presentation.  As usual, the uplifting, serious and sensible have a place, as do the funny, silly and foolish.  Anonymity guaranteed :)

Could you send anything you want to put forward to me via a website message, or email to compscorer "at" caterhamlotus7.club

    Thanks!

    Andy

  6. HI all

Curborough results are now posted in the usual place.  Latest championship scores as at 27th August are below:

Class and championship scores as at 27th Aug.pdf

Ladies scores as at 27th Aug.pdf

Veterans scores as at 27th Aug.pdf

Edward Lewis scores as at 27th Aug.pdf

A correction to the Veteran's trophy on the day.  Due to, *ahem*, a technical fault, Paul Boston wasn't marked down as a Veteran in the on-the-day scoring sheet.  Some might put it down to Paul's youthful looks (not sure if flattery will work, but worth a try), but it was just me missing a manual piece of data in the spreadsheet.  Paul got the highest Veteran score on the day, and should have received the award.

This is a quirk of Curborough as we need to produce an on-the-day recording sheet as its our event, and data like whether someone is in the Veterans championship needs to be manually entered for the award calcs to consider their score - Paul's scores in the veteran's championship have otherwise been properly recorded all season and accounted for in the PDF linked to above.

Apologies, to Paul and to John C who wrongly received a trophy.

  7. Hi all

Quick post to say to expect a small delay to posting the round 11 results as I'm away with family and friends this weekend (hence not being at Curborough).  I'm actually going to Anglesey island, which is a serious failure in planning as I should have aligned it with the sprint there !

I'm back late Monday, so expect scores on Tuesday this time.

Also, apologies to those competing in the ladies championship for the late posting of results in Round 10 - I'll make sure I post the championship positions every time they move.

  8. Sorry guys - just back from holiday and seen the messages.  I seem to have completely missed the class 1 & 2 results when typing everything in.  Should now be sorted, although you may need to reload the webpage if its cached the old version (mine did this - hold shift and click the reload button on your browser when in the PDF file)

  9. Hi all

Loton Park scores have been uploaded to the usual place in the Competitors section.  Looking at the times, I assume there was some kind of almighty downpour just about the time there were the second timed runs??

Anyway, latest positions for the championship are below:

Class and championship scores as at 10th July.pdf

EL scores as at 10th July.pdf

Veterans scores as at 10th July.pdf

Ladies scores as at 10th July.pdf

  10. Hi all

Could anyone who was at Epynt send me a link to the times?  They aren't on resultman.co.uk or the other timing websites I've used before and Brecon car club haven't posted the PDF yet.

  11. @Simon  Apologies, I didn't intend to publish the final column with championship scores as there are quite a few things that I need to tidy up.  The class and other scores are correct, or at least I've spent time checking and cleaning any mistakes I;ve found - the championship ones can't be trusted just yet.  I will get that sorted for the next round.

@magister  It's an interesting one and a few different things there.  First the on the day award - the on the day award is for the 'fastest lady', and can be different from the scoring for the ladies championship.  The regs for the Curborough 8 event don't specify the way that the on the day award is calculated, and I just used the spreadsheet from last year.

However, depending on the method you could make an argument for each of the three to have won the award - Debbie had the fastest actual time, Julia had the highest score against the time on the day, and Rebecca had the highest score against the record (which as you say is the way the spreadsheet was set up to calculate it).  In order to clear this up I'm going to contact the ladies competing in the championship and see what they think should be the approach to calculating the award for the future.

The reason the PDF is different is that its generated by the master championship spreadsheet, with the raw times copied from the on-the-day one.  The master speadsheet format is great for the championship, but doesn't work when displayed on a monitor on the paddock office, or help the guys typing in the scores.

  12. Excel sheet with all the details can be found in the results section now - not just times, but terminal speeds, 64' times etc
