    2016

    Hi Doc

The management team are looking at the options for 2016 and no doubt will keep folk posted, 2015 was mixed in terms of money and uptake so guess there will be some thinking to do!

    Cheers

  1. Ladies & Gents

As it says in the title and last club track day of the year, great track & hopefully the weather gods will be with us.

You know it makes sense, give Sam a call at the office and grace her palm with silver and have a great day out!

    Cheers

  2. Gents

Please spread the word about Oulton, for some reason the take up is not that strong at the moment and we need a full house to break even!

For places to stay, have a look at the MSV web site for the actual circuit, there is a list of B&B's and campsites near the track.

I will double check on leaving trailers at the track, should be fine as they usually have 24 hr security

Look forward to seeing you all there!

    Cheers

  3. Guys

Glad to hear generally positive responses for the day, sadly had to leave after lunch as I think people would have got feed up with constantly bump starting my car, apparently I have the curse of the k series 'click'!

I guess always a difficult one with a mixed session but given the price of Brands, we just wouldn't have enough numbers to even get close to taking the complete day for ourselves, which would then allow us to do fast & slow sessions.

Over the next few weeks & possibly in LF I will ask people more about what they want to see the club do with track days, sessions v open pit, etc, etc, however please feel free to email me your thoughts, all comments gratefully received, good or bad!

In the meantime, please feel free to sign up for Oulton, another great track and we really need the support, as bookings are looking more than a little lean at the moment. So if you thinking about it.....don't, Just do it!!

Finally, big thanks again to Merrick & Phil, I'm sure the folk that benefited from your tuition will be even more confident next time around!

    Cheers

Good to see that you are coming down, you have been bitten by the bug! If you haven't signed up yet, you need to soon as spaces left are now down to single numbers. For accommodation, have a look on the MSV web site for Brands and there are a list of hotels, etc

    See you there

    Cheers

  5. Hi

At the moment no is the simple answer, we are having to work hard to get to a break even situation, so for this year just the three (I will speak to MSV to see if there are any cheap deal kicking around though & the dates offerd by Hethel were too close to Brands), if we get there, then I will push to do more next year but as always, we need members to support it!

    Cheers

  6. Guys

I will make enquiries of MSV but I think you will find it will be an open event now, as the last time I asked they were only up to twelve 7's

    Cheers

  7. Ladies & Gents

Can I just say many thanks for the people that turned up, despite the less than favorable weather forecast & stayed when the same forecast proved correct!

A number of people call it a day mid morning, which I can understand but the rain gods seemed to hear my plea and the afternoon had a dry (mostly) track and the sound of rain was replaced by high revs & tortured rubber!

I've seen lots of kind comments under the various headings re organisation & thank you for them all, given it was my first event. I was very much leaning on Merrick to show me the ropes and help me out, which he did in spades, so thank you Merrick.

Unfortunately we did have a couple of off's but both guys were fine, which is the main thing and hopefully it wont put them off Track Days.

Merrick & Phil were fantastic on the tuition front and to go out as a passenger, in the rain in the early sessions, when you don't have control of the wheel/throttle/brakes was brave or mad, take your pick! So thank you to the pair of you.

Staff at MSV were great and very professional and the marshals dealt with matters very quickly I felt.

Big thumbs up to Gillian who showed that the 620r throttle works both ways and as they say, power is nothing without control and she piloted the car with fantastic control.

I understand there is a discussion to be had about going back to sessions, which I will happily kick off in the future and see where this takes us, as at the end of the day, these are your events.

Hopefully everybody had a safe journey home.

So onwards & upwards (downwards) to Brands and lets hope its true what they say in that it never rains in the south!! (said as a Northern residing in the Midlands!)

    Cheers

  8. I think sunshine & showers

    BBC Weather says

    Forecast Summary

    • Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday

Rather cloudy and breezy on Sunday but mainly dry. Turning wet overnight with rain clearing through Monday. Sunny spells and scattered showers thereafter, locally heavy. Rather cool and breezy throughout.

  9. Dear All

I've been contacted by the guys at MSV to say that only 9 people have signed up for the event, to keep this a solo 7 event, they need 25.

We have until the 8th May to find the remaining numbers, otherwise MSV will have to throw open the event to wider world, so if you are thinking of signing up, please do so asap.

    Cheers

  10. Afternoon All

Countdown to Cadwell is on, hopefully the big yellow thing in the sky will continue to shine!

Attendance is looking really good, so thank you for those that have signed up, looks like another good club track day opener. For those that haven't signed, get your skates on, whilst Cadwell is more generous than Brands & Oulton on maximum numbers, there is a limit, so book now to avoid disappointment!!

On the subject of the Sunday evening, how many are coming up and do you want to meet up for food & a beer?

A few people seem to be staying at The Royal Oak in Little Cawthorpe, which doesn't look far away from the track, happy to see if they will do something on Sunday evening.

    Show of hands please!

    Cheers

    Andy
