ashaughnessy
What's involved in replacing the rear crankshaft oil seal on a crossflow? Assuming I can split the engine and bell housing and move them apart sufficiently. Anthony
Peter T
You will have to remove the flywheel to gain access to the cover plate that holds the oil seal in. I cannot see how you can slide the box back far enough to slide the clutch of the input shaft. The seal is held in the cover by 5 bolts, simply remove cover and push the seal out, make sure you oil the lip of the new seal to stop it binding.
