Steve Robinson
I'm in the process of changing a rear wing and have hit a snag. Have removed all of the bolts bar the bottom 2 nearest the front of the car. These are held in by the securing thread and when trying to undo them the captive nut thing on the inside of the wing is turning. Have tried gripping it with pliers and undoing the nut but to no avail. Any ideas on how to secure it to loosen the bolt? Thanks in advance Steve
STEVE GILBERT
Drill all the rivetts out on the inner cockpit pannel, so you can grip the rivnuts from behind. Once the bolts are out drill out the old rivnuts and renew them. It's a pretty common issue and I always re-tighten rivnuts with the fixing tool before re-fitting wings etc. Steve See My Caterham Fireblade Here. Steve Robinson
I have got access to the rivnut, but cannot stop it from turning when I turn the bolt. Any idea on how to lock it in place to get the bolt out? Steve
