gavinp
Just taken delivery of a simply gorgeous looking Raceco titanium silencer - do I need to put my crummy black heat shield back on the car? Irrelevant
Heat shields are horrible! Just put it in the back of the garage somewhere and forget about it. Skilled craftsmen laboured for hours to make the beautiful creation you have been wise enough to invest in - don't hide it. My car just passed the MOT with no heat shield so it can't be required. J351 TPE - Now with 12 months MOT!
gavinp
well I was wondering whether they are required to be road legal 🤔 Superlight R #
Sheds Moderator
SVA reqd, possibly. MoT, no. Mine covers up the dents on the silencer and I think it looks nice®. The fact that it might stop passengers burning their legs is a bonus.
gavinp
Raceco advise that their silencer runs cooler than most, so not a requirement to put heat shield back on. g Superlight R #
