Leadership Team RogNeedham Posted March 12, 2004 Leadership Team Share Posted March 12, 2004 Have just acquired an FIA bar (taller type thereof) and strut..(thanks Mark Haywood 😬  Three things - firstly do I have to fit the strut for track day use Secondly whereabouts does it attach to on the car?..(yes I know they're daft questions ) Thirdly before I go taking the back end of the car to pieces any tricks / things I need to know etc. The bar came off a 2002 de dion - I have a '91 Xflow de dion Cheers  Rog Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Frying Pan Posted March 12, 2004 Share Posted March 12, 2004 The FIA bar is only FIA approved with the strut fitted, but most track days don't require this. The Petty strut front fixing is a boss in the chassis about 2" below the front of the door sill on the passenger side - you need to remove some rivets / screws to bend the trim panel out of the way to locate the boss, then dril through the panel to get access to it. Guy See some pictures of the build here.
