Dave_H
Do I have to remove the sill protectors to fit a Roadsport cage on to a road car 🤔 Thanks, Dave

Dave_H
Thanks B.O.S.S. There's no way the front mounts of the cage will reach the mounting holes in the chassis with the sill protectors in place. I assumed cars with cages didn't have sill protectors - can anyone confirm this 🤔 Dave
Fred
if the cage fits on the inside unlike the race cage, all you will have to do is clear the area around the holes where the bolts go, a dremill will do it .
Chelspeed
This years roadsports cage, made by "Caged" rather than Safety Devices, mounts differently. There is a half round shaped bit which sits over the sill and has a pair of bolts thorugh into the chassis bushes, one from each side. Don't think there's any way to fit this over the sill protector, it's just too tight a fit without one. I would think you'd need to trim the sill protector back to miss the roll cage clamp. Tonycaterham
Dave, I had to cut dowm my sill protectors so my Roadsport cage would fit at the front. There is no way the 'U' fitting will clear the protectors. Tony
Dave_H
Thanks Fred, Chelspeed and Tony I don’t think there’s any way it’s going to fit with the sill protector in place. I might be able to trim it down with a dremel, but I think I’ll remove it first. Cheers, Dave
Sheds Moderator
Maybe this is why mine had no protectors when i took the cage off... I thought it would fit over but evidently not.
