2004Academy80
first post, hello all. Currently buying a car and to drive away from sellers house I need to be able to slide the drivers seat back. Is it possible or a technique?thanksalex
Paul McKenzie
If it's mounted on the Caterham 'standard' slider-yes, if it's on the fixed ali mounting (usually only for the passenger) then no! Also make sure the belt buckles don't snag the holes at the sides of the tillet
2004Academy80
Thanks for the rely. It was stuck and very stiff, eventually managed to slide rear wards. Had a very windy, wet yet enjoyable drive home from Chester to London.
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted September 11, 2016 Area Representative Share Posted September 11, 2016 In my experience they stick very readily.
The_ASH
I've seen quite a few choked with grit, as Academy cars have no carpet it ends up under the seats and then as the adjuster is greased when new the grit sticks to it and can often be heard cracking guillotine style as you try to slide the adjuster with the grit trapped in there. Also the adjusters often go rusty and get wet which helps to fuse the two parts together. I have heard of people removing the seat and using a hammer to get the two halves moving again.
