Mark Durrant
The primaries and collector were made by Exhausts by Design in stainless steel to the following specification: Primaries: 1 7/8 Diameter 30” long (same diameter as R300/R400/R500) Secondary’s: 2” Diameter 10” long Lambda boss in primary No. 4 and collector Matched to Raceco Silencer This system produced an increase in mid range torque without affecting top end power. The system has increased clearance around the start motor and uses the standard R3/4/500 hole in the side skin so no additional cutting is required. Raceco silencer 6” diameter fitted with high flow catalytic converter. This fits the 4-2-1 exhaust and comes with the rear silencer to chassis bracket. The high flow cat is positioned at the exit end of the silencer and had no impact on power when the engine was mapped. The exhaust system needs a good polish as does the silencer which also has some scraping to the rear underside of the silencer. The silencer is re-packable and at 2/3 revs the noise was measured between 95-98 db.
