So there is no difference (apart from the funny icon) between the 'Image' and 'Link' buttons.

 

But some people manage to get pictures into their posts - I'm sure I have seen some. How do they do it ?

It seems that way. I've tried a couple of things but am not sure how they would have managed it - perhaps someone will be able to enlighten us.

The image function will only allow you to link directly to an image file (i.e to a .jpg)

I've had to put spaces next to the square brackets otherwise the image will be displayed again...

 

You also need to ensure that you have selected the option to view images in your profile, or you will see the text (Like This in the example above)
