Ian Macpherson
Building a 2002 live axle classic; got the axle hung on the dampers as instructed, A-frame attached; moved the support stands from the chassis to the axle tubes expecting the chassis to settle somewhat with weight on the springs, but lo and behold the differential flange to bolt to the driveshaft is looking straight forward at the frame cross tube and brake line, and the axle tubes are still resting on the frame. I put 200 pounds in the "boot" area and it went down marginally, but no way near enough to bolt on the driveshaft. Anyone ever encountered this? Did Caterham send me the wrong parts? Am I doing something arse backwards? Thanks much for any and all advice. Signed - frustrated in USA
deanteam
Did you tighten the suspension bolts in the jacked-up position? If this is the case then loosen and only tighten when full weight is on the suspension. The rubber bushes in the suspension do not allow free rotation.
