Foxy Smith
Sadly, the need to finance a new construction project and frustration with cr*p roads and proliferation of stupid speed restrictions in our area means we have decided to sell our beloved Caterham. Built in 1993 by Don Cheshire, then technical editor of "Low Flying", this car features in several articles from that era. Also appeared in an article in an early "Evo" edition. Engine is Vauxhall XE 2.0 litre with Swindon mods supplied new. Dry sump Aluminium radiator and Laminova oil/water heat exchanger. Currently on Weber 45s but I have run previously with Keihin flat slide carbs. The Keihins gave fantastic performance with a huge boost in torque to 175 ft/lb but were noisy and thirsty and probably better suited to track use. Standard track and suspension with Freestyle adjustable ARB on front. Big front brakes and LSD diff. Cockpit: standard Caterham dashboard and instruments. Removable Racetech steering wheel. Mog carbonfibre seats with sixpoint QR harnesses Terratrip intercom with headsets. Wheels are 13"x6", there are two sets of wheels, one of 5 and one of 4 all currently on Yoko 021s. I also have a set of slicks unmounted. Spare wheel rack at rear of car has been modified to be quick release. Colour is Caterham Red with Yellow FIA roll bar and yellow screen surround and stanchions. Polished Vx race 4 into 1 exhaust with Raceco titanium silencer. Aluminium rear undertray. Full set of weather equipment including hood bag, pocketed tonneau and a new Jill Judd half hood. Mileage is coming up for 50,000. We have used this car regularly and in all weathers but is serviced regularly and stored in a Carcoon within a garage. Next MOT is due end of May 2010. Price £12,750 Contact details brookhsenursery "at" aol "dot" com Edited by - Foxy Smith on 2 Nov 2009 08:05:
