MADMALC
I have a standard 1998 Superlight R. It passed the SVA but is always marginal at MOT, as it was at SVA, and needs to be very very hot to pass. Questions are: 1/ Can I buy another standard ecu, eg a standard 1.4 as sold by Caterham and use it just for the few minutes on the machine to pass the test with ease? 2/ Can my style of ecu be reprogrammed and if so by whom? I am looking for a cheap solution, is there one? Or must I be resigned to nearly setting my car on fire to pass the MOT every year. S7MAD
davidvoas73
Cheapest option must be to find an MOT test station that thinks its a kit car - i.e. no emissions test??

No. >2/ Can my style of ecu be reprogrammed and if so by whom? Not for your purposes, no. You'll either have to bite the bullet and fit something like an Emerald (and then either tweak this yourself or get a specific MOT-happy map sorted). Or find another solution that I couldn't possibly endorse on a public forum 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester Racing 7s Ecosse™ 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
