Zetec cam belt change

I don't know of a link but it is easy to do.

First take the plugs out so it is easy to rotate the crank then remove all fixing screws on the cam cover and lift it off. Now rotate the crank clockwise as you are looking at it until you achieve top dead centre on No 1 cylinder with all valves closed.

If you look at the back of the camshafts you will see a slot in both of them which should be horizontal and in line with each other. You now need to slip a 5mm thick piece of flat bar or angle in these slots to lock the camshafts into position.

Now you can undo the fixed idler pulley to slacken and remove the cam belt, being careful not to rotate the crankshaft. Now fit the new belt and idler whilst holding the automatic tensioner sufficiently slack to allow the belt to go on. Check the crankshaft hasn't moved with the new belt in place, remove the cam locking tool, refit the cam cover and plugs etc and job's a goodun.

Btw, it might be a good idea to replace the idler pulleys and bolts while you are at it as they have been known to sieze and the bolts shear off with disastrous results! *eek*

Adil, who posts on here, lost a 'Black top' Zetec like this a few months ago. ☹️
