IanJ
A search of techtalk suggests that a number of people have rigged up dry sump belt-failure warning systems using microswitches/courtesy light switches. Does anybody have a photo of their switch location on a Caterham system which they would be prepared to share? Many thanks, Ian. Ian 😬 1.6K SS Superlight #006 Penn Sevens Here
MartinWoodham
no photos, but apparently a good solution is the Porsche part from 993 model cars that fires a warning light if the fan belt breaks. It's £40 or so IIRC but at least designed for continuous running at high rpm, unlike a courtesy light switch or similar. Martin Roadsports B with upgradeitis
IanJ
Thanks Martin - that definitely sounds like it warrants further investigation! Any other suggestions (with or without photos) would be much appreciated. Ian 😬 1.6K SS Superlight #006 Penn Sevens Here

Support Team Shaun_E Posted August 22, 2006 Support Team Share Posted August 22, 2006 David - no I won't be at Curborough as Gill and I are holidaying in Cornwall. Next event is Wiscombe and we will be at Cadwell and Harewood so if you are at any of those events I'll pop over and take a look. Cheers, Shaun Yellow SL #
