daj060454
I've done the usual trick of meddling with something thats working fine, but I thought could be improved...and now its fubarred! I tried replacing the poppers on either side of the rear boot cover to provide a more secure fixing for my half hood, now the holes are too big even for a 4mm *10mm rivet, any ideas as to what I can do.... *confused* Dave Jackson British Racing Green and Yellow Nose The only way to low fly 😬
Myles
Rivet-washers? Oh - you mean the ones that go through into the chassis tube by the base of the rollbar? Project Scope-Creep is live... Area Representative Nick Chan Posted June 4, 2006 Area Representative Share Posted June 4, 2006 Dave, You could either try a larger rivet with the head filed down to fit the popper base (you might need a popper base with a bigger aperture) or get something like a two pack gum that is used to fill holes and sets very hard. Put a small blob in the hole and whilst its still soft, insert the rivet and leave it to set and then expand the rivet - no rude comments either, just trying to be helpful 😬 HTH Nick Now the Orange HPC - A 2.0 VX - 😬
Bricol
4mm nut-sert / riv-nut then use an M4 csk screw to hold the popper base. If you are anywhere near Keighley in West Yorks, I have the insert, the insertion tool and the screw . . . Bri
