how do you remove steering rack from series 3 caterham seven ?

Hi Guys
Is there any one out there who can advise me how to remove the steering rack from my caterham series 3 . I have disconected it from the chassis and disconected the ball joints . however theproblem i have is sliding the body / spline through the aluminium side panel of the body work , Ahhhh !!
