Winter is coming, the opportunities to get out in your Seven are limited or non-existent, so what better time to be looking forward to the New Year and new opportunities.
With Richard Nichol (Chair of the Caterham and Lotus 7 Club) we have been looking at how we can provide opportunities next year for members and their partners or friends to come together for a mix of social and driving pleasure.
As a result, we are delighted to announce a series of “Club Weekend Blats” – a new initiative, starting next year with three fantastic blatting weekends away at different locations around the country. Our first event will be the “Club’s Bath and Wells Weekend Blat” but expect more news soon about other events we are looking to arrange including “The Club’s Bard’s Weekend Blat” in the Midlands, “The Club’s White Rose Weekend Blat” in Yorkshire and possibly one further weekend away in the SouthEast.
The Club’s Bath and Wells Weekend Blat – 7th/8th May 2022
Book early to avoid disappointment!
I am excited to announce the opening for bookings of the first of these new events – The Club’s Bath & Wells Weekend Blat, to take place in the South-West of England. This is your chance to book ahead and join the first Club Blat as detailed below:
Date: 7 th and 8 th May 2022
Location: Near Bath in the South-West of England
Accommodation: The Carpenters Arms, Stanton Wick which is 8 miles from Bath and 15 miles from Wells (http://www.the-carpenters-arms.co.uk/)
Places Available: 10 rooms/20 people. The Club has secured a confirmed room rate. The pub has 13 bedrooms (10 double and 3 twin, all en-suite) and there is a function room for the Saturday evening dinner.
Cost: £170 per double/twin room B&B with 2 people sharing
Dinner: Will be in the pub’s private function room
Guide price: 3 courses - £35, 2 courses - £27
Sunday Lunch: For those wanting to stay for lunch
Guide price: 3 courses - £32, 2 courses - £25.
NB: Both Dinner and Lunch will need to be booked well in advance and menu choice pre-ordered at least one week ahead.
Proposed Itinerary:
Saturday 10.00 am Meet for coffee (location to be confirmed)
10.30 am Those who wish can join fellow members on a curated blat
NB: Those who want to explore Bath or Wells are free to do so, however taxis will need to be organised in advance
4pm Members participating in the blat return to Hotel
7pm Pre-dinner drinks & dinner (for those booked overnight)
Sunday 8.30am Breakfast
9.30am Local blat for those who want to
12.30pm Lunch (booked in advance) **
2.00pm Head off home
NB: Those not wanting to stay overnight but wishing to join either the Saturday or Sunday blats (or both), will need to register their intention to do so via the Club Office by email at admin@lotus7.club) or by calling 01873 777303, and quoting The Club’s Bath & Wells Blat.
** Sunday lunch is the Carpenters Arm’s busiest service and booking for lunch well in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment.
How do I book?
- If planning to stay overnight and join the group for dinner: Contact the Club Office on 01873 777303 or by mailing adminteam@lotus7.club who will then advise the booking process.
- If not staying overnight but want to join the blat(s): Contact the Club Office on 01873 777303 or by mailing adminteam@lotus7.club quoting The Club’s Bath & Wells Weekend Blat with the following details: your name, your membership number, mobile number, name of passenger (if applicable) and, whether joining on the Saturday, Sunday or both.
If you would like to have lunch at the Carpenters Arms on the Sunday after the morning Blat you will need to book your place(s) directly in advance – again, the Club Office can advise how to do this. Rooms have not been reserved and booking is on a first come first served basis, so don’t hesitate – book today to avoid disappointment!
