Since 2010 the Seven has been fitted with a BMW differential containing a Titan limited slip unit either as standard or as an option. In service reliability since that date has been of considerable concern to owners. The most frequent encounter is either complete contained failure of the Titan unit or a cessation of operation eventually leading to the same.
Failure of the Titan LS unit have been known to occur very early on in its life. Some failures recorded at 4,000 miles.
