eric Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 The difference is ...., first of all the dimension of each tyre So what about the gearing Is it better behind the Wheel ? with the smaller one As the 13" are becoming rare, for road AO39, Bridgestone re 720 and O21 are or will stopped Do you think the future of 13" fans will be with CR500 048 ? My 7 is a sprint with 110 HP 5 speed 3.92 De Dion eric
eric Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 Any other makes avalaible than cr500 or Yoko in 13" A good tyre of course
Chris__ Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Dunlop Formula R are available in 185/60/13, but good luck finding any. As for road biased tyres, nope, there aren't many. Uniroyal Rallyes, Goodyear Eagle Ventura are about the only branded tyres that come up on the main web based tyre sites.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted March 20, 2006 Support Team Posted March 20, 2006 There is a very noticeable difference between these 2 tyres. I have just swapped from A048R to CR500 and the ride height dropped siginificantly. With adjustable spring platforms this is easily corrected. If you are using the same size on the rear it will affect the gearing noticeably. I'm not sure how that will translate to feel but it should make the car accelerate more quickly - it will also affect your speedo reading. I have changed to wider rears and hence the 205/55 CR500 is about the same diameter as the old 185/60 A048R. Yellow SL #32
stevefoster Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 As for gearing you want to be on the shift light at the end of the longest straight 😬 Hants (north) / Berkshire club here Area meeting pics here My Racing here
Tom_C Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Is the supply of A021R drying up in 13" rims then? I'm about to switch to these in place of my Avon CR322s, principly to keep the same gearing (70 profile is available in 021 but not 048). Should I bite the bullet and get the speedo calibrated for 048 instead? Cheers Tom FH54WLX - only the car supports ManU, honest!
