Phil Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I have taken the sump of my car and upon inspection I find the bottoms of the pistons have been drilled in different places, the pistons also look like they may be alloy. Was this a standard thing on the 1700 super sprint? X/FLOW 1700 DD 1990 ROAD USE ONLY..SO FAR
Peter T Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 No, these sound like Acralites pistons, they are drilled, this is how they balance them. Is it very smooth finish? If it is then they are forged pistons and not cast versions. Carbon Components Here K9 Composites
Phil Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 Yes they are very smooth looking and a whitish grey colour, the rods look as though they have been machined in places. If they are Acralites pistons, what is the safe amount to rev too please. X/FLOW 1700 DD 1990 ROAD USE ONLY..SO FAR
Phil Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 Looks like my crank has been drilled and balanced, this can't be standard? X/FLOW 1700 DD 1990 ROAD USE ONLY..SO FAR
