CageyH Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Has anybody found some lightweight headsets yet for an intercom? I want one that has two ear plugs, unlike the new Starcom headset, and a boom microphone.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted March 15, 2006 Support Team Posted March 15, 2006 This company seem to do a fair range, mostly aimed at pilots but they have some lightweight headsets and they do adaptors for Autocom systems. Yellow SL #32
Markiebabes Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 hi try this link http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?Id=102143 might be of help *smile* hopefully this link works
CageyH Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Thanks for the headset services link. I have seen two versions (I think). Code: HSMP73720 Code: HSMP73490 No idea of price, as the firewall/software at work won't let me look! These seem to negate the need to have big yellow ears! Anybody used one, or similar?
Support Team Shaun_E Posted March 15, 2006 Support Team Posted March 15, 2006 Code: HSMP73720 - looks like £140 - £160 +VAT but I can't see if that includes the boom microphone. You also need an adaptor which is about £10 + VAT or £35 + VAT for the military spec one. Code: HSMP73490 - waterproof version of the above but can't find a price. Looks like a telephone call is required. Yellow SL #32
CageyH Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 It would appear Starcom do a stereo version of the lightweight headset now. Superb
Mick Day Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Headset Services will also do in ear speakers (the same as used in F1) to link up with the Autocom. This then doubles as ear protection (v necessary in the noisier cars) & communication. They also mounted the mic booms onto the protective glasses we wear.
CageyH Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 I contacted headset services, and their response has been quite slow. By buying the Starcom kit, I can be sure it will all work, and is an easier one stop solution. The lightweight headset works similar to the in ear headphones I use now, which are noise reducing.
