Mike Molloy Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 As per the photos of Rob Kenrick's hillclimb beastie in this month's Low Flying. The shock top mount extensions look like an interesting mod. Anybody know if it is a bolt on? Anybody done the maths on the suspension geometry and able to offer comment? I believe ECR may have tried something similar?
barry.h Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I've done the maths on the standard widetrack and it is not a falling rate as commonly claimed but is actually a rising rate (just). That said, Robert's is better although I doubt if I would notice the difference ☹️ ☹️ Barry
Andy A Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Is this a real problem with widetrack and does this solve it? Whats the consensus?
Alex Wong1697456877 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 ECR's front suspension is wider than standard widetrack, hence the mod. He made up the bits to more the top mounting point outwards himself and they are a bolt on mod. The original mounting point is in effect a pivot point and I think a rod on the inside down to the lower wishbone mounting point holds it all still. The real pain was getting the top of the shockabsorber to miss the wishbone - I think ECR turned himself some new parts so that it didn't come in to contact with the wishbone. _________ / __ __ / ___ _//__T/__/_ ___ / (_) (_)/ / /`-'/o/ _______ /o/`-'/ / /// ( VDU7X ) // / /___/--_________/--/___/
