Paul McKenzie Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Help!! Just trying to mate new Caterham VX integral DS Bellhousing onto my old gearbox...and it won't. The problem is the 4 bolted cover located over the gearbox input shaft is standard Ford T9 and is therefore too long (tube part of the cover is 82mm long). Caterham obviously shorten this for their integral belltank applications. Has anybody with this configuration got their gearbox out at present and can measure the length of the shortened tubular part of the cover? Thanks, Paul Edited by - Paul McKenzie on 11 Mar 2006 10:16:47
EFA Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Paul, An aluminium cover is used here. I have a spare one if you are interested. 07710 526739 K2 RUM - The 7 in front of you is a DIESEL
Rob Walker Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Remove the sleeve and cut off the excess after the internal seal. This support sleeve is only needed for the cable clutch but you still need to retain the oil seal.
