davef Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 As it say - I'm after a cheap digital camcorder with AV in (for bullet cam), USB or Firewire connectivity and ideally LANC control as well. Cosmetics or other features not so important as it's going to be used in the car Dave
Nifty Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Believe it or not I actually posted something up this morning about one on eBay and then decided to bid on it myself, and so wiped and closed the thread. I failed to win the auction. I may go after another one and if I win then my current Canon MV530i will be available Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
davef Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 I'm watching a few of the Canons on Ebay at the moment. Thought I'd give a fellow BC'er a chance to sell to me first . Let me know if the 530i becomes available. Dave
Nifty Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 An MV 730i went for £137 this morning ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ 😳 😳 Wish the bidding was always that lacklustre ❗ ❗ Keep off the straight and narrow 😬 Edited by - Nifty on 10 Mar 2006 20:54:19
Nifty Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Dave, Drop me a Blatmail with the ones you're following and your eBay ID and I'll make sure I don't bid against you *thumbup* Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
Nifty Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Dave, Be careful .. I'm not sure, having done a little research on the Canon website, that the MV 700 and 800 series camcorders have a LANC socket. As you may know, only the i models have the AV In that the bullet cam needs. Nifty. Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
davef Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 Nifty - thanks for the info. My brief reasearch seems to show that LANC interface isn't that common nowadays. I'll drop you an email if I start bidding. Cheers, Dave
Nifty Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 I've been watching an MV 850i and a 750i but now I know they don't have a LANC I'm not so sure I'll go for them. My 530i does have LANC and I believe this is important for your ideal in car setup. I'lll keep my eyes peeled. I've dropped you a blatmail with my user ID Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
davef Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 Just found http://www.bikecameras.com/AV-and-LANC-list.php which contains a partial list of LANC enabled cameras. The manufacturors websites are frankly useless of r this information. Dave
