SouthernBanana Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Hi. I have a '98 SLR which is currently fitted with 215/50/13 A032s on the rear. I have been told that the 8 inch ACB10s will fit on the rim, but am woried that they may move laterally on the rim? The current fitments (215 section) seem to fit well (i.e. do not bulge outwards from the rim where the bead is located). Just concerned that 245 (equivalent) may either foul something, or move around on the rim too much (esp at around 18 psi). David at BMTR recommended the 8 inch option over the 7 inch for cars with >200 hp, and suggested the A30 compound (F&R). I presume BMTR are the best source in terms of price and compound/size availability, etc? Last question. Can anyone clarify the estimated difference in ride height betweent the current 215/50/13 (metric) and either 7/22 or 8/22 (imperial). Any experience/advice gratefully received. many thanks
Area Representative Richard Price Posted March 6, 2006 Area Representative Posted March 6, 2006 22 inch ACB10's should increase the ride height by about 1/4".
SouthernBanana Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 Anyone use 8 inch ACB10's on SLR rims?
Alex Wong1697456877 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 8" ACB's are commonly fitted to SLR rears.
jerrypike Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 yes, have used several sets of 8/22 ACB10 rears on my SLR, in the A32 (medium) compound IIRC. don't have 200bhp but no complaints as to balance with 7" fronts jerry
Jason Plato Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 8" ACB on 8" rims is not a problem here is C7 TOP Powered by Special K, Tweeked by this lunatic here South Wales AO
