O/T How to find / remove the battery from a BMW 5-series (E34)

The battery in my 1994 5-series saloon (E34 model) has well and truly died but I'm damned if I can locate it or remove it. I believe it is under the fixed backseat of the car but have no clue how to lift the backseat nore remove it.

 

I'll check some BM forums too, but you guys are far better! 😬 Anyone know how its done? Thanks.

Jerk the front edge of the rear seat squab (hold both sides), and it should come out....
