shn7
Checking the rear pads today on our newly acquired (R reg) Alfa I find that they are very much in need of replacing. Having removed the caliper retaining bolts and got the caliper off the disk/pads it looks very much like the piston is like the std CC rears and should be wound back into the caliper to facilitate fitting of new pads. As luck would have it my wind back tool even fits. The problem though is that the piston did not want to turn even with quite a bit of effort. So does anyone know if I am doing something wrong or just not applying enough effort? Steve.
oldbutnotslow
Hi Steve Nope you are correct in assuming that it is a standard wind back. The piston can be wound out with someone applying careful pressure to the foot pedal with the wind back tool in place. Just getting it to move the opposite way may be enough. Just a thought --- Make sure that your hand brake is fully off!
