Sandy
Can anyone tell me if the Ford Capri has an English axle the same as a Mk1/2 Escort or an Atlas? Its not the days in your life ..........But the LIFE in your days!! ;0))
Ged
The 3.0 litre Capri had the Atlas. The 1.6 and probably the 2.0 had the English axle, but they may not be the same width as the Escort. The Atlas was normally narrowed to fit into an Escort, though I believe would fit as standard, just.
elie boone
The atlas/banjo from a Capri is wider, the atlas is also much heavier than a banjo but can take 300bhp. I think that a banjo will be good in any seven especially if you upgrade it to Gp 4 spec. but then there is some weight penalty. The Escort MK1&2 had an axle that looks like a Atlas but have a smaller diff than the Capri item, you could find them on the estate version and some early 1100 MK1's where the doorlock is under the doorhandle. I have such an estate axle that is gatering dust in my garage the cwp is 3.88 and you will need to pick it up here in Belgium.
Sandy
Thanks for the replies, I already have an English banjo casing but this one came up on ebay and due to the description I thought the LSD and diff might be suitable: here However, your responses seem to conclude that it wont be! My search continues, many thanks Edited by - Sandy on 30 Dec 2005 09:21:
