knowley
Does anyone have any tips for removing grit that has burnt on to the exhaust tail pipe - lots of elbow grease with hot soapy water did not work 🙆🏻 Thanks R300 Register My R300
Drumster
Wire wool and autosol 🤔 Works for me Chris Alston 1800 Supersprint here Drive it like you stole it!
Foxy Smith
Try some WD40. The grit you refer to is probably tar spots, WD40 is good at removing this
knowley
Ah.. I was going to autosol it anyway, thought it would be best to remove the muck first. I think its grit, was clean before Keevil and there was grit everywhere ☹️ Thanks very much R300 Register My R300 Edited by - knowley on 14 Aug 2004 20:11:

Goslima1
Knowley, I use stainless steel cleaner designed for saucepans (how sad !) on one of those non-abrasive silver pads (also for cleaning pans - teflon ones) available from a supermarket. These do not scratch the exhaust but do remove burnt on tar and the 'yellowing' that occured on my new exhaust. Marty
Tiff
Wonderwheels !! It brings the stainless up really bright, and any stains that are left are then easy to remove with autosol or similar. I'm careful about getting it on the paintwork tho'.
Matthew Wheatley
T-cut used to always work for me. Seemed to remove some of the shine/polich but definitely cleanned the thing up - a quick polich afterwards always seemed to bring it back. (although mine was a bit tatty to begin with) Mat
knowley
We are talking real grit here Its like the roughest sand paper you can buy, very small stones (grit ??) effectively welded onto the tail pipe... almost a few mm's thick 🙆🏻 R300 Register My R300
