Carbon thickness

Anthony

Recommended Posts

Guys, I am working on a simple back plate for the air filter.

It is a Swindon design item and needs to be cut horizontally along the trumpet centre line. It is then clamped in place by some very sexy brackets

The bulkhead carbon I have used as a template, is too flimsy

Can anyone let me know std thicknesses for carbon flat sheet

Many thanks

Hi Anthony

Copied from Fluke site:

"Available in 0.7mm, 1mm, 1.7mm, 2mm, 3mm and 4mm thickness.

The panels can be cut in sizes of 1000x500mm or 1100x1000mm. Available in 2x2twill weave or 5 harness.

Technical Information

We would recommend -

- 0.7mm for nonstressed panels/covers (e.g. stone guards)

- 1mm-1.7mm for general panels (chassis panels, tunnel cover)

- 2mm-3mm for floors

- 4mm for stressed applications"

Don't know if this is of use.

Jon
