c7kjt
Looking to get a multimeter for use on the car only. Not really sure which features are important. Had a look at the Machine Mart range here and am tempted to go for the CDM20 as the optimum compromise between price & features. Any other recommendations? peterg
Yep, that looks like it'll do anything you're likely to need short of measuring the tyre temps
tomroche
Maplin currently have digital multimeters @TWO for £4.99 - and they're OK !! Tom
LazerBrain
It might also be worth looking at some of the cheaper meters from Maplins. There's one at around a fiver that a few colleagues have bought for general use. PS: Never put a DVM "out of the way" in front of your car on the ground, it's bound to get crunched at some point. ☹️

V7 SLR
Cheapo Maplin one doesn't have a continuousy tester which is irksome.
Sheds Moderator
Maplin ones at that price are very good. I gave one away as a present and the other does all I want it to do. They are small and cheap enough to carry in a glovebox, just in case. Come on, at a fiver for 2, keep one in the car and one in the tintop or toolbox. I should add that I have more expensive meters but guess which one I use most.

Nick Woods
Maplins also do one for about £15 that includes a thermocouple so that you can take temperature measurements - handy when trying to determine if your gauge is working properly.
