PHIL70
Good evening, I am french. Sorry for my english. I am the owner of a Lotus Seven S4 1971. I am looking for a water temperature sender. On my car, the sender is on the top of the radiator. I should like to know how to find this part. From which car can I swap ? Ford, Triumph, etc …….. Do it exist a specialist for this part ? Thank you for your answers.
Ken Sailor
Are they Smiths instruments? If Redline cant help you could try Europa heregetcats=true&page=3&cat=10&scat=29&sscat=10&sword= or Gower-Oaks here Ken Sailor
Jleclainche
I would definitely contact Redline Components. Send an email to Mick: mick@redlinecomponents.co.uk If nobody knows... and for what it's worth: My Seven S4 is fitted with a Smiths gauge, believed original, reading in Celsius (50 to 130 degrees). There is a chance that the sender is the same unit fitted to the 1973-79 Jaguar XJ12, as well as some earlier British sport cars (Triumph Spitfire and Sumbeam Alpine/Tiger). If this is correct, the Smiths part number was TT4802/00, and the new equivalent to the Smiths unit would be VDO #320.045. Something for you to check if you get no other response. Hopefully Mick will know for sure! JLC in San Diego PS- si vous voulez communiquer en francais, contactez-moi a hobbycars@cox.net
Ken Sailor
That link to Europa doesn't work. It should be http://www.europaspares.com/ Had a thunder/lightening storm and power failure just as I was posting the message. RiF
If you don't get any joy try "speedy cables". They are the service side of Smiths Instruments. E-mail me if you want the tel no.
