Nick Speed
I remember reading somewhere that the dipstick reading is inaccurate and you need to put more oil in than indicated?? Any thoughts gratefully received! Cheers Nick
Gambo
Before I dry sumped my VX I used to overfill a little as the sump pan is very shallow and you do not want to miss the oil when cornering !! what I foun though is if you did it too much the engine spat it out of the breather.nice and messy. in the end got fed up with oil pressure problems and farting around with knowing exactley how much to put in and dry sumped it. SBD kit(make sure he gives you all the parts to start with) and hey prestomuch better job. + 5-6BHP extra inprocess. you see on the standard sump the crank is sitting in the oil, so it drags. Smiffy
1cm above max mark seems to be the common consensus of opinion.
Steve Kirk
Just to confuse things, mine won't take more than 1cm below the max mark, or it spits out. I fill to halfway between min and max. No pressure problems.
