Beelzebub
Anyone know what the torque setting is for the above 🤔 & is it safe to use these bolts again 🤔 They look like they've been in there from new (4 years) & outwardly are in good nick. What's the scoop 🤔
timbo
61nm (with thread lock) Ford part no. - ideally would do no harm to renew them as their price is minimal. SV R300 (by virtue of spec not price)
F355GTS
Dave I was advised it is recommended to replace them and as suggested threadlock them Mark
Joe 90
I would use my judgement. If they look fine and were tight before dismantling I would probably use them again. Do bear in mind though that they are safety critical. SEP field working, not spotted in 101,600 miles. MikeE
Just fitted my (hand tight for now) last night and the build manual doesn't mention anything about loctite R400 Duratec 230bhp
Myles
There's a good reason for that - they are pre-coated (that's the blue stuff you can see...) No need to add anything else... timbo
if they've been in and out a few times use thread lock (as myles says... the blue coating is a jointing compound.... with removal/refitting occurances you'd be better to use thread lock).
