Marius
I´ve been running a DTA E48 until today on my 2 litre VX. The new engine (still a VX...) has 4 coils, each one sitting right on top of the sparkplug. Question now is: can the DTA E48 with just two coil outputs (cylinder 1/4 & cylinder 2/3) also fire four coils ? Can I just connect coil 1 & 4 on the engine with PIN 24 which usually fires one coil for two cylinders ?? Marius
Peter T
Don't see why not, as long as it does not exceed the 8 amp output on that channel, it will in effect be running a twin wasted spark. Support the 7 Society...... Ehhh?
Paul Ranson
Probably simplest to ask them direct. here Allan will know the answer. Paul
Marius
Tried already, cellphone from E-wizard is switched off. ☹️ My engine builder said that two coils connected to one amplifier "migth" show problems as one coil might effect the other during load-time and firing. ´ Each amplifier from the DTA can handle 8amp, so 4 amps for each cylinder-coil. Marius
Right, talked to DTA now and they advised to wire up tow coils in series (not parallel) onto one amplifier of the DTA. They said it would work in 9 times out of ten..... If it won´t work my DTA will go bang. A bit like Vegas.... Marius
