Peter T
I have just replaced my box with a quaife sequential unit and am using the modified quaife gearbox mount, it seems to use two rather crude looking rubber bobbins. Are these a bush for another purpose that have been cut in half ? Also why does the mounting let the box foul on the forward section of the gearbox crossmember ? Can i mount it with no rubber bushes or will it transmit to much vibration through the chassis ? Support the 7 Society...... Ehhh?
Marius
Peter, not sure about the Quaife rubber mount, I´m still using the "normal" one which was fitted to a 5speeder before. You will have to cut a bit off the chassis section, see here a picture of how it looks like afterwards. Not a nig job, takes about 1-2 hours if you do it properly and paint the cut chassispart afterwards. Marius
Peter T
It's a bit late for that now, it is allready fitted and trying to cut it with the box in situ seems pointless. If i remember rightly Arnie used some kind of spacer ? 🤔 Thank you for the picture. Support the 7 Society...... Ehhh?
Marius
You can probably use a spacer but this will also alter the mounting angle of gearbox, engine and propshaft. That´s why I cut it. Marius
