The Pits
Are they worth it? Around £2000 for something which looks cool, gives a small bhp gain.mmm....

Sheds Moderator
Dear Saxo Dazza, If you really must have something that looks like a 4" soil pipe poking through the bonnet, you can make one in fibreglass, painted black, for a fraction of the cost of CF. The difference in weight will be about the same as the baseball cap you put in the boot in case it came on to rain.
I reply to every thread
Where did £2000 come from? You could get the Throttle Bodies too for that.
k80rum
Are you sure we're talking about the same thing here? - perhaps TP is talking about the carbon airbox and 'alien' attachment that all fits under the hood, rather than the cavernous DITP one. I seem to recall the multi-hosed carbon beast was about this much. It certainly had enough complex curves on it to merit a high pricetag. EFA
There is only one of "the cavernous DITP" ones left. Proven to increase torque and power (Customer testimony's from Count (had you lot not fightened im from these parts), Tony Crane and of course myself) Tony's car incidently has an R300 spec engine and with the airbox on was keeping pace with claimed 190bhp cars on the blat down to Le Mans. The last one also costs only £700, and there is no VAT to pay. It comes with an ITG filter element and backplates are available for several throttle body types. If you want it call me 07710 526739 as my home ADSL is down until the 29th June according to BT. Fat Arn Slay the K.

The Pits
Does anyone have any all important pics of the cavernous one? To those it may concern the £2000 refers to the reverie version.

TorAtle
£2000 is sick. The £700 DITP item is hardly a bargain either (and nowhere near the +30bhp "claim" stated earlier except for maybe an instantaneous moment after being held up in traffic on a hot hot day), but I like it for what it is. It provides your engine with the lowest temperature available and that's it.
Slomove
Adam, yes it was quite impressive. A Mercedes based drag racer with four big fat turbo chargers, who knows how many 1000 hp and who knows how many 100k$. I saw it at the annual Supercar Show in Pasadena. All in chrome, match colour anodized alloy and carbon fiber. Kind of an automotive wet dream. I bet they will never race it because that would spoil the finish. There were of course many other goodies at the show..... Gert
