Mathew Rimmer
Am doing my first L7 club event at Harewood and saw on another thread a questionmark as to whether removing the passenger seat is only for class6 ? I have a FIA strut and also a crossbracing thingummy, but they can't be fitted with a passenger tillet in place. Surely there are no regs that regulate against safety items ? Anybody enlighten me ? thanks
Mattj
We've run w/o passenger seat for a number of events, and so do many people in the championship and had no problems. You'll be absaloutely fine without one- no probs!
Graham Perry
Some championships insist on a passenger seat. For those I have a leather covered piece of foam in place of the normal passenger seat. It just about meets the letter of the rules. Edited by - Graham Perry on 20 Jun 2004 15:15:
robmar
Matt - it might have been me that mentioned it, and I was probaably being facetious (SIP) as graham says a bit of foam could count as a seat to some I wouldn't worry about it for a L7 event rob
RichardO
Get the tall bar! The bracing strut then passes over the top of a tillet, and the diagonal thing (petty strut?) will go through the upper seatbelt cut out if you enlarge the hole slightly (OK probably a bit late for you now as I guess you've already got the bar, but someone else might find it useful ) R
Peter Carmichael
The seat can be practically anything, but it does need some sort of passenger seat belt. I have seen a few cars running a static three point belt on their passenger side to save weight.
