Light problems

Drumster

Recommended Posts

Car has suddenly developed a problem with the rear offside lights.

Everything on the nearside works fine, but on the offside the brake and reversing lights work and the rear light and indicator don't work. Also the dashboard instrument lights aren't working. I can't seem to trace the problem and as we're supposed to be going away for the weekend in the 7 can anyone give me a clue where to start looking. I've done the usual routine of swapping the bulbs around etc.

Thanks

Chris,

Hopefully someone will have better ideas in a minute but I would check the fuse for the instrument lights. For the rear lights disconnect the connector under the rear wheel arch and clean the pins plus check for corrosion. Hope this helps

Thanks guys, especially Ian B for the phonecall.

On my '93 x/flow dashboard lights, RH rear light and RH side light controlled by one fuse. Didn't really associate them as being connected. New fuse inserted, problem solved.

RH rear indicator - there's a dodgy connection somewhere, maybe at the back of the light cluster, nothing that a bit of wiggling didn't cure 😬. Doubtless I'll get round to having a proper look soon. Hmmm, seem to remember saying something like that last year 😳

At least I'll sleep easy tonight now *smile*

I've had the same problem........the small bulb that illumantes either the indicator warning light or main beam light had "wiggled" loose and had shorted the fuse....I regularly put my hand under the dash and push them back to stop it happening again.........
