Fitting tillets

are you sticking with the adjustable runners (the things that weight more than the seats), if so not a lot, probably the only difference is raking the seat with the pack of spacers to your prefered position *thumbup*

and also you will have to thread/force the buckle through the seat as you lower it in, unlike a leather one *smile*

Driver's side (adjustable) is easy - but much easier with another pair of hands.

Passenger one is a right bugger. Luckily, my GRP one will fit a lot easier in your car, so we could swap it for the kevlar one you won at le Mans 😬

Seriously, passenger side is a pain - the holes in my chassis were about 5mm offset to one side, so I had to get the Dremel out. Bolts go in from the bottom up.

May be worth downloading the build manual from here

Well frankly it’s a loads bol---ks. Caterham supply Arch with details on where holes are to be drilled in the floor pan which are useless, they are up to 10mm out ! ☹️

Spoke to Caterham Technical they said, supply a drawing where the holes are drilled,.… yes they are right.

I don’t think so was the reply. Oh are they not ? “We rely on feed back to fine tune the build”

Doh ! 😳

It's a lot easier if you weld the bolt head into each runner before you put the seats in. This saves you having to muck about trying to wedge something between the bolt head and runner while you do the nut up underneath the car.

Other than that not too bad a job really.

If ound that with the non adjustable seat the most important part is to get the holes in the floor pan right as has already been said. I then cut the heads off some M8 (I think *confused*) bolts and screwed them into the underside of the runners. Placing the seat in position its then a case of lining the studs up with the holes and pushing the seat into place. I then removed each of the studs one by one with mole grips, replacing them with the fixing bolts. (I seem to remember I still had to do a little more fettling to get the holes exactly right *mad*).A few photos are halfway down the page here, should they help.

Fixed seat is in took about 60 mins(on my own no friends you see), now is the adjustable side easier or harder as I am thinking of just fixing the drivers as opposed to the adjustable one?

Drivers side with runners and the lowered floor kit was a mare on Dennis' 7.

Pass side was in in about 0.5 hours!

The passenger side on my car was a doddle compared to the driver's side. I've since had the passenger one out of the car and back in - easy as pie. I think the driver's one is staying where it is! *wink*

Chris, due to medical condition I can't do Atkins diet (only sane people allowed) however there's a £100 for NtL if you lose more weight than I do. Start 1st August with a witnessed weigh in and finish at Le Mans with a weigh in at the intro meeting. Ring me if your on for this and we'll get it on BC for sposorship.

It's a deal I'll do a weigh in at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix track day plenty of witnesses there and gives me the opportunity to eat doughnuts for a few more weeks.

Got your message and will be ringing early part of next week (currently putting in a new system for the Met and am snow down love to Vera *tongue*)

Chris, I'll get weighed at the Gym on same day and get a witness statement. In a way it'll be a pleasure to lose. But I won't cause if you lose as much as I'm going to we won't be able to see you.....

Tillet seats are a bit of a tight squeas, in my case so much so that the seats touch the side panels

The passenger seat being reasonably far back its possible to fasten the door strap to the top poper, but on the driver side as the seat is adjustable, and you want the seat forward for a good position then you will not fasten it

You have an Areo screen and half doors ?, then I guess no probs
