Chris W
Mark Cleraly there should be NO connection between the lights and the horn. (Has it always done this or you've just not noticed before?). It appears someone in the past may have rewired these circuits (incorrectly). What part of the country are you in as these issues are difficult to solve via email? Can you trace out the connections so that I can try to diagnose the problem or get to my neck of the woods (nr Dunstable/Beds) Chris 2003 1.8K SV 140hp see it here
F355GTS
Chris I haven't noticed it before but then I don't think I've ever used the horn! I'll trace the wires to see what's going on and come back to you thanks Mark
Mike Molloy
Red/White is normally "illumination" power to the switches from fuse F6 (also RH tail light). The Pur/Blk from the horn switch should go to the horn relay P85 coil connection. The other end of the coil is unfused battery (brown), so the horn should work even with Ign off. The other terminal of the horn button should go to Gnd (normally Black). If you have the lights off, the horn will work because the terminal is grounded via the lamp filaments. Check that the pur/blk goes to the horn relay, and then change the other connection to gnd. Should work independent of lights then.
