seemywestfield Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Hi, Firstly I have done a search but haven't found anything definite. I will be taking delivery of 6.5" ET38 Team Dynamic Monza alloys and I anticipate they will sit too far in the arches. I don't have the car yet, so not sure if it has nuts or bolts to hold the wheels on, it's a SEiW 2002 Zetec with discs on the back axle. I know I can use spacers, but I am a bit nervous about getting the right ones. I don't what the ones which act as big washers, with only the boltsnuts holding the wheel on with no support. So where can I get (how much?) proper wheel spacers which will centre the wheel & give addional support. What about longer bolts, will they be required, I think they will need to come out by 20mm. Where can I can them from? I see Westfield can supply 60mm bolts. Thanks in advance. Graeme www.seemywestfield.co.uk
Mr Locust Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 I'd have a word with Westfield and see what they say. Wouldn't it have been easier to specify your new wheels with the correct offset (hence back spacing) dimension to alleviate the requirement for spacers? Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
seemywestfield Posted March 16, 2004 Author Posted March 16, 2004 Yeap I guess it would have been. Although Rimstock, the UK imports for Team Dynamic (who used to supply Westfield) advised ET38 would be fine. Anyway, the ball game has changed slightly. The previous owner advised that he had to cut the studs to make the old wheels fit. Any idea if I'll need to change the hub, or if you can buy the studs seperately? If so are they easy to fit and is it worth fitting longer studs so I can fit spacers? Cheers. Graeme
mr_ed Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Demon Tweeks do the proper spacers, cos I enquired today about them. But was horrified when they told me they're 53quid A PAIR !!
seemywestfield Posted March 16, 2004 Author Posted March 16, 2004 OUCH!! What size were they? I think I'll require 15-20mm. I will need longer studs too.
