tom7
A question for BB, There are a number of potential competitors that have bullet cameras available to them. (myself included) I have just read on another thread that your brother in his capacity as a sudent of the blue book has advised that permission is needed from the organiser and the Chief scrutineer to sanction their use during an event. As the 'organiser' of the L7 Club events, what is the position regarding permission to use cameras, understanding that scrutineering would still need to be passed. Cheers Tom
Silver 21
Tom Good to have a chat in Sainsburys last night!! From a 7 Club perspective its not a problem, the only thing you may find that with the events we don't organise that we may need permission from them. The scutineering issue is to ensure that the camera is securely mounted, any camera you intend to use should be in place when you present your for scrutineering. robmar
just to add that this would not be allowed at MIRA where no cameras full stop are allowed into the complex althouugh nott sure how they enforce camera phones rob
bl0498
Thanks Graham, Rob is correct with MIRA. Not sure what if anything they will do about camera phones - although I am aware they are banned (and confiscated) at several non-motorsport venues. The other issue which will be checked at scrutineering is the safety issue. The camera should be securely mounted on the passenger side of the car to ensure that the helmeted head cannot come into contact with bits of mounting etc. Simple common sense. I mentioned this point about cameras on the other thread because people in the heat of having the latest widget attached to the car often forget that all media rights to film at circuits remain with the MSA Track Licence holder. They may sell these rights for certain events or they may allow event organisers to have these rights. Hence the necessity to obtain permission from the event organiser. Hope this helps Brian Trainee Clerk of the Course Edited by - bl0498 on 23 Jan 2004 23:22:
