Castrol
Anyone out there got their gearbox out of their 1700 Supersprint x-flow? If so can i ask you to take a measurement for me please 🤔 Your input shaft on the gearbox should extend to the mouth of the bell housing, if so I need to know the length of the unsplined section of the input shaft? Thanks, Matt. I WILL get this Zetec in one day ❗

Steve Kirk
This drawing here might help. I think this is your box - it's the 2000cc box with the lower ratios, not the V6 box.
Castrol
Steve, Thanks for the link. The image seems to be a short input shaft (176mm) gearbox. It definitely proves that mine is a long input shaft (207mm) gearbox though. I don't suppose you have a similar drawing for the long input shaft box do you? Matt. Steve Kirk
Sorry, no. I've looked for one myself on the web. There may be one in the Haynes gearbox manual as this does cover the type 9. PS as far as I know there are 3 lengths, 190mm (ish) being the third, which is for Vauxhall cars, and the shafts are interchangeable with one another if you can be bothered to open the box up. Tight fart
The unsplined section is approx 48mm. (the front part that runs through the clutch) T.F@O.F. A7 RDP Pics here
