Zetec fuel injectors

Depends on wether your ECU can run high and low impedence injectors ? I pressume tha you have no map present in your ecu at the moment so as long as they have your flow requirements you can use them.

Hi Peter bit of a delay in replying! Tardis was stuck.

The injectors are the late post '99 ford focus ones, I measured the resistance at 14 ohms which lumenition said the C460 management system will work with.

The injector has variuos numbers on it, 988F-da 0280155819 as well as060 and 971. Basically I need to start and run the engine to get it MOT'd and then on to a rolling road.

Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

Cheers, John.

Delay.................... thats an understatement, slower than snail mail 😬

Do you have any map in your ecu at all ?

Even if your ecu can drive them and your fuel requirements do not go beyond their capabilities i still would recommend a trip to a rolling road. *thumbup*

Do you know the duration that your ecu has, so at least you have a ball park figure about what psi you should use. *idea*

Hi Peter, Lumenition put in a "general 2L Zetec map" for me last year. I am not sure of the duration the ecu has, but I have been told that it will work with 14 ohm resistance injectors. I will take the car to a rolling road asap, but I was hoping to gently drive it there. I will call Lumenition next week to see if they have a record of what they exactly put in. I have messed around with cars and bikes for years but this is my first venture into injection and engine management, and it is the last stage of getting the caterham back on the road. I have adapted the fuel pressure regulator from the original Focus fuel rail to fit the Jenvey rail. Should I put an adjustable regulator in the system instead for when I take It to a rolling road to make adjustments to the pressure possible? Any other advice would be gratefully recieved. I have a contact who has a range of "known value injectors". I am not sure if I am going about the last stages "arse about face" Is AMMO out there anywhere or any other experts in this field. If your not sure about the map and injector values, then i would not drive the car at all, especialy on light throttle openings, as this is where most damage will be done !

An adjustable fuel regulator is certainly worth the investment over a standard non fitment type. *thumbup*
