JKJ
I have a Banner battery attached to my SS 1700. Using my battery conditioner to keep it topped up. Tonight, as perhaps two or three time s previousyl, when I coming to start it, with the conditioner not attached, the negative terminal flashed/sparked when the key was first turned. The car did start, and again on subsequent tries. Any ideas why the the terminal should spark in such a way ?
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted January 19, 2004 Area Representative Share Posted January 19, 2004 Is the connection clean and tight? Usually the sparks would be caused by a poor connection and the charge "jumping" from one surface to another. shn7
Sounds like the actual connection is dirty so making a poor contact. Thus the current is jumping from the battery terminal to some uninsulated part of the cable connector. Good news though is that is sounds like the conditioner is doing a good job. Steve.
