pinkprincess Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 Evenin'. I'm a bit intrigued to some 1 1/2" to 2" long metal clips which grip the output splines on the diff I fitted to my kit. They're oval shaped with a long groove down the centre and held in by a torqued allen drive. The assembly guide does not mention these so should they be removed? RW04FUN I've started so I'll finish....maybe before March
Grubbster Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 NO! Leave 'em where they are! Haven't a clue what they do but I think it is something important! See some photo's of my Roadsport build here
Tony C Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 Agreed - leave em in place. My understanding is that they set the crownwheel and pinion end float. BRG Brooklands SV 😬 It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. (Antoine de Saint-Exupery)
EFA Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 Correct Tony. Rich, assuming you have not revolved the output flange "turrets" you can refit them again without cause for concern. They just lock the "turrets" in position. Fat Arn Visit the K2 RUM website See the Lotus Seven Club 4 Counties Area Website here
